I was thinking about the word “nock” when I sketched this, it means to fit an arrow on a bowstring in archery.  I wondered if there was a root word connection with “nocturnal”…
There wasn’t, but “nox” literally means night in Latin, also Nox is the Roman Goddess of Night associated with the nighttime sleep and dreams.
Besides the Greek deity Nyx, it doesn’t seem like she has much written about her or is a part of current culture compared to other Roman deities like Cupid or Venus etc…  I imagined a version of her shooting fire tipped arrows to create the night sky with the support of some nocturnal beasts..
